I have GOT to start getting up earlier and stop being such a biotch when Sean’s alarm goes off at 6:00am. Lately what has been happening when the clock goes off is the puppy wakes up and I take her out, come back upstairs and kick Sean’s ass out of bed because he’s gone back to sleep, then I crawl back under the covers and sleep until the kids come in and wake me up. Sometimes it’s 8:30…on a good day. Today was a day just like that. When the kids and I finally got up, precious breakfast time was spent reading email and quickly surfing the ‘net before running out to do some errands. We got home around 11:30 and I was STARVING! I decided to make soup for lunch and it only took about 20 minutes to do it from scratch which wouldn’t have been bad but, did I mention I was STARVING? I managed to restrain myself from tearing open the cabinets and eating everything in site and saved my appetite for this:
Y’all, that mushroom soup is so damn good. Today I used Baby Bella mushrooms, beef broth, half and half, and coconut oil instead of the ingredients I used when I showed you the recipe last time. Delicioso!
Well, I think skipping breakfast was a really bad idea because for the rest of the day I just kept feeling hungry. It could be PMS, too but my period isn’t really predictable enough for me to say with certainty that it influenced anything. I snacked on organic corn chips and hummus, 3 small squares of chocolate, and then a handful more of chips. Then, by the time dinner rolled around Sean didn’t feel like eating, the boys ordered a pizza for Sean to go pick up and I didn’t want to cook a big meal just for myself. So, what did I have?
arrgh! Damn you Totinos Party Pizza! With your sweet, crispy crust and delicious fake chemical-laden toppings! You are the bane of my existence and I hate you. No, wait, don’t go….I really love you, but I shouldn’t. We’re not meant to be. You are the Romeo to my Juliet and you are REALLY not good for me!! But, oh, I do love you so…Ok, that was weird but I couldn’t help myself. Maybe it’s all the chemicals I ingested at dinner tonight. I don’t know.
Tomorrow, we’re heading out to a festival called Farm Fest Five where they will be celebrating – Farms! There’s going to be grass-fed beef hamburgers and hot dogs, homemade ice cream and root beer, live music, and much, much more. We’re pretty excited about it and I hope to have lots of good pictures to share with you. All four of you that come here and read every day. You four quiet readers. I love you more than Totino’s Party Pizza. Really, I do.
